Teh Siu Dai

Amanda Ang

Teh Siu Dai would like to be doused in the real flavour of life: She prefers to avoid using medication if she can tough it out. She asks for 0% sugar when asked at the bubble tea store. She is currently in her 20s and is trying to figure out how to take care of herself and how she might help care for those around her. She dabbles in cooking, poetry, ukulele-playing, volunteering at a childcare centre, watercolour painting, origami folding, singing, thinking, praying and getting a Masters’ degree. She currently lives with her stuffed animals: Felix the tiger, Henri the intellectual French owl and Polycarp the killer whale.

Chelza Chong

“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure”, Chelza takes every failure as a stepping stone to success. Starting out with just a love for books, she goes on to being a graduate who majors in English Literature. To her, nothing goes as well with books as a good cup of coffee/tea. Being a caffeine addict, she never misses her daily dose of tea/ coffee. As an adrenaline junkie, she loves to run, loves her HIITS exercises and loves hiking. When time allows, she loves to just sit by in a café, read a book/magazine, people- watch whilst sipping on her cup of coffee/tea.

Tingyan Khor

I'm currently in Chicago for college, but I will be back. Singapore will always be home. I make art a lot and write a little. I think it is okay not to have everything figured out. Enjoy struggling, enjoy figuring things out, wrestle with yourself, love people, eat food, eat ice-cream, drink a lot of coffee. But also, be alone, do things that are good for you, know that you matter. Give and receive hugs. Many of them.

Val

20 year old that spends time thinking of creative, orginal ideas like which Teh sounds coolest. A Filipino that speaks better Mandarin than Tagalog which that is not saying much. Val constantly thinks about life and its meanings, more so than actually put words on a page. He enjoys watching reruns of Sherlock and everything Marvel and DC. Plays basketball, might just be a decent drummer and is on his way to successfully pulling off Eminem's "Rap God". "I recognise that life is a dream and I dream lucid."

Hilary Tan

In the midst of her 20s, Hilary is still figuring things out. She loves to read, talk about deep topics and experience life in all its beauty. Just like the thickness and fullness of Teh Kao, Hilary believes that the best way to deal with emotions is to fully experience them, both the sweet and the bitter. For only when you taste life's bitterness, will you then experience the sweet aftertaste. Born and bred in Singapore, Hilary loves anything local (except durians!).

Jurveen

I enjoy the company of words more than anything else. During the day, I teach children how different alphabets connect and make sense. At dusk,I explore how these letters form words and how these words communicate with one another, creating a kaleidoscopic collection of meaning for me. The fluidity of language allows one to be heard for their views.  Teetering on the edge of technology, I would love to read works of various writers and experience moments of epiphanies in my mind!
