Your feed, captions, stories, hashtags, algorithms, DMs, tagging, following, unfollowing, your profile, highlights and oh my god\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">does it ever end?!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That\u2019s why we\u2019re here\u2014with your foolproof guide to rocking it on Insta <em>(even if you\u2019ve never used a hashtag in your life #wegotyourback)<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Step 1: Know Thy Brand<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Look, we\u2019re just gonna give it to you straight here:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Social media is just an amplifier. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And unless you understand<\/span><b> what you want your brand to represen<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">t and the community you want to cultivate, you\u2019re not going to be able to keep it <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">consistent <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">on Instagram.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This means deeply understanding your brand\u2019s tone and voice <em>(you nail this for all your clients\u2014your turn now!)<\/em>, your style <em>(dig up that color palette\u2014or create one)<\/em> and knowing your readers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>So before you start obsessing over hashtags, here\u2019s what you\u2019d be best to get clear on:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What is your brand personality? If you want to show up on Instagram like a business, don\u2019t do it in your sweatpants. Much like any brand representation, being mindful of how your feed mirrors your brand can make all the difference\u2014<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/later.com\/blog\/instagram-aesthetic\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">your Instagram feed is basically your homepage<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Yes, even your copy needs a \u201cstyle\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So, you\u2019ve got the look and feel of your Instagram grid down\u2014great. The next step? Establishing a distinctive style in the copy you create for each caption. Is your brand witty, direct and to the point? And by posting every few days, you\u2019re giving each one more time to be served up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And if you don\u2019t even have time to create 2 Instagram posts a week, then you probably don\u2019t need to use it to generate leads <em>(why are you reading this again?)<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><strong>F. Yes, your bio matters (duh)<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019ve got 150 characters to tell \u2018em what you do and get \u2018em to stick around. So make it count.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a legit word nerd, we shouldn\u2019t have to tell you to end it with a CTA. The Insta Overlords allow you to have ONE link in your profile, and it sits directly under your bio\u2014so use your last line to entice clicks. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another frequently missed opportunity is the name field. Chances are you signed up and chucked your name in there, right? I mean, that\u2019s the logical thing to do&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the name field is actually searchable.
