Believe me, LinkedIn is full of great clients looking to hire copywriters to help grow their businesses and make more money.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But because I wasn\u2019t connecting with these people, I was barely visible to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I was anticipating that someone would follow me out of thin air and magically produce a contract. All based on the few captions I post each week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ironically, I was spending more time on LinkedIn then than I am now\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My profile was like a dead plant hoarding crickets because I was measuring the wrong KPIs.<\/span><i><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That changed when I lost two clients during the pandemic\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It was early 2020. Coincidently, I had just started working with, not one, but <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">two<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> incredible clients as a social media copywriter.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These were brick-and-mortar businesses who knew their sh**.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As COVID hit, everything started shifting online.<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> [Read: falling apart]<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our campaigns took a hit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even as marketing experts huddled up to shift services online; a record\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2021\/01\/07\/record-store-closings-bankruptcy-2020\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">12,200 U.S. stores closed in 2020<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, altering the retail industry forever.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In that moment, my clients and I both knew they needed a different business and marketing strategy to cope. As a result, all social media campaigns went on the back burner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Times were crazy back then. There was apprehension. And we mutually decided to pause everything till the world could restart.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just like that,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> I lost two high-paying retainer clients. We ended up working together a few months later.<\/span><\/i><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>WHY COPYWRITERS SHOULD USE LINKEDIN.<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, I know what you\u2019re thinking.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It may have been easy for you, Hira. But what makes you think it can happen to me too? Users are shown content that is of interest to them before recent posts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result, LinkedIn displays articles, videos, and job listings that are most relevant to the user\u2014or at least content they are most likely to engage with.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Reason 2: It\u2019s an ideal platform to easily find and pitch your ideal prospects.<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LinkedIn is all about making connections. If sales are happening on the platform, you don\u2019t need to bring the email addresses home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These are people who haven\u2019t opted in to your personal email list, so it&#8217;s an opportunity to reach a market you wouldn\u2019t otherwise reach.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Think about it&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s like having your own muffin stand inside a large, popular coffee shop. You\u2019re selling hot delicious strawberry muffins to the constant stream of customers that the coffee shop attracts.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Customers approach you. They pay you right there. Start where they start.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What titles are they searching for, when they\u2019re looking to solve problems, that <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">you<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> can easily solve for them?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Step 3:<\/strong>\u00a0 The next step is to create a branded <\/span><b>banner for LinkedIn cover photo<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LinkedIn cover photo size for personal profiles is <\/span><b>1584 by 396 pixels<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FYI, I recommend uploading the same profile photo and banners to all social media channels.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This creates a consistent online presence across all platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I use <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.canva.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Canva<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to create all my graphics and would recommend the same to you if you need to create your LinkedIn banner from scratch.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Step 4:<\/strong>\u00a0 Use the \u201cEdit public profile &amp; URL\u201d section to edit your <\/span><b>hyperlink<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. You can either put your title or your name inside the hyperlink. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your name is taken, get creative.
