Applying For a BTO at Bidadari Woods

Lifestyle, Singapore by Mr Yong / November 13th, 2015

Applying for the latest November 2015 BTO (Build-To-Order)? My girlfriend and I first heard about Bidadari this year. They say it’s next Bishan, because of the prime location…and history as a graveyard.

Bidadari is located between Woodleigh (in case you suaku, super near Serangoon) and Potong Pasir MRT , and Mt Vernon will eventually make way for its expansion. The Bidadari estate will have about 10,000 Housing Board flats and 1,000 private homes. Interested? Here are 4 things you need to know before bidding for Bidadari.

  1. November Launch

The Bidadari BTO first scheduled for an August launch but I think they forgot that it was the seventh month (check out the surroundings man). No la, kidding. It’s probably so that all the new income ceilings and schemes can kick in. That also means more competition for me…

  1. Premium-priced

They say hor, that it could cost up to $600,000 for a five-room flat in Bidadari.  So, I went to check if I have enough in my CPF account.

Don’t say bojio. Go to the CPF website, log in using your Singpass and look for your ordinary account balance (special account cannot be used for HDB downpayment). The downpayment  would be 10% of the total cost of your flat.

  1. Priority if parents live nearby

I turned on my Google Map and checked. Yah, sibei kiasu, I know. My girlfriend’s parents stay 2.7km away. Missed by 0.7km. Suay.

Sigh. If my great, great, great, grand ah gong live in Mt Vernon now can? :S

  1. Underground Bus Interchange

Singapore’s first underground bus interchange will be in the estate, and should be completed by 2019. This piece of news wasn’t picked up as much – you might want to consider the bus traffic if you aren’t a big fan of vehicle fumes and the sound of chugging bus engines…

Well, if staying in the heartlands is not your kind of thing, you may want to consider the Punggol Northshore launch. It might be the closest thing you can get to staying at Sentosa Cove! Check out the other November BTO launches. Bidadari or Punggol… Who knows, we might just end up as neighbours and lim kopi together!
