But I’m not in it.
If I were to take those three words apart –

‘My’
Yours. Solely yours.
The way you used to be ‘my’
First thought, best friend, other half.
You still are.

‘Best’
One and only.
Not even ‘one of’
Which could’ve left room for me.
But you didn’t.

‘Friend’
That’s all I am to you now,
Just another friend.

I don’t begrudge you
Or the person in your picture.
Life goes on. I know that.

Here are my three words for you:

Don’t forget me.
