Love, it exists within the simplest moments of our lives. These moments may appear to be insignificant, negligent and even, too common to any of us. Yet, they are times that exude love in the most generous and noble manner. From the daily morning hugs that he/she gives you to the nightly kisses that he/she showers upon you, they express love in the most heartfelt and sincere ways. Yes, these moments of love might not seem as magical or touching as how Hollywood defines and expresses love to be. Yet, isn’t magic something that is pretty relative to anyone and everyone?

Yes, we do not kiss deeply under a heavy downpour. He remembers that I love banana nut cereals, I remember that he dislikes celery. He makes sure that I eat my 3 meals daily, I remind him to take lesser amount of sodium. He brings me my favourite chocolates whenever he is back from Australia, I give him packets of coffee whenever he is leaving for Australia. No dramatic acts of love and yet, we experience each other’s love in the most thoughtful manner.

Unlike any of the Hollywood characters, we do not run from a distance and throw ourselves deep into each other’s embrace. In shopping malls, we held each other’s hands so that neither of us are lost in the crowd. In restaurants, we share our food since we are gluttons who need a wide variety of food to satisfy our palettes. In nature reserves, we explore the flora and fauna together with his encouragement and my endurance. Anytime, anywhere- I feel his love for me, he feels my love for him.

In the land of fairytales, every relationship is a smooth sailing one. Yet, as mentioned, that is a fairytale. Not a reality. We quarreled, yet, I appreciate the hugs he give me after each argument, knowing that I always need them. We argued, yet, I thank him for taking the time out from his busy schedule to solve the issues with me. We had cold wars, yet, I feel grateful that he still texts and hopes that I am okay. Ups and downs, we went through them with commitment, communication and faith. Yet, what matters most is, our love for each other has proven to be stronger after each obstacle.

No knight in shiny armour, no damsel in distress. No Prince Charming, no Snow White. No sickly female character, no brawny male character. Love, it does not exist in dramatic moments. Simplicity, ordinary, common- yes, that is where you will find the deepest soul of love.
