Polkaros
Artist Ros Lee has always been fascinated by design since she was little. This was especially so because of her family’s clay art business, making her even more drawn to explore her creative side. 10 years ago, she moved from Singapore to Japan to pursue textile studies with a 3 year scholarship to study art and design. With the new skills and things she learnt about textiles she decided to combine clay art and textiles together to form her own line of products. All these cute little pots and plates are hand-made from scratch, and mostly even hand painted by Ros herself.
When I saw the shop from outside I was immediately drawn in by the whole concept and color scheme of the shop. She even has products from The Letter J Supply with typography and calligraphy prints hanging in her store.
“Polkaros was born from Ros’ love of ceramics, textile and paper, combining her influences and training in Japanese traditional crafts with modern zakka* goods. Filled with personality, every item is lovingly handmade with careful attention to craft and detail.” – K+ SG

Miun
Miun tries to blur the lines of reality and fantasy through her floral creations. She previously worked in a florist shop and that is where her love for flowers bloomed (PUNNY) and she decided to create this exhibitions series.
Her works are all hand made and crafted with mixed media such as wall lamination. She individually cuts and pastes each piece delicately to form every intricate and detailed flower.
When I saw this exhibition it reminded me a lot of “Le Petit Prince” and his special rose. Each one is unique and to each is its own, going to this exhibition I really felt like I was stepping onto another planet.
Until 10 January 2016
Experience the wonder at K+, Scotts Square #03-14/15.
