Duh, it’ll always be ‘AWESOME’!!!!! For me, im kinda a positive person so i like a word that really tells that i really like a certain thing etc!!! And idk, ‘awesome’ just describes it!!! And also, being a millenia, it is very relatable as also a lot of ppl nowadays are using it!!! And i prefer clean words, not explicit ones… One i can say OUT LOUD anywhere….??????
To know more about a person, we often come up with questions like “What is your favourite colour?” or “What is your favourite song?”. It is very seldom that we hear people ask “What is your favourite word?”, because most of the time, we do not think much of words. There are millions of them in the English language, and new words are being invented as with every passing year. How can we possibly stop to think which one is our favourite?
Go on, try it. Spend a little time thinking about your favourite word. Let it be a way to appreciate the beauty of words. Words are after all, the driving force behind writing and communication.
It is amazing how a word can be entitled to more than one meaning, and how multiple words can then string together to form different sentences, each with a different message and idea. It is exactly like fitting puzzle pieces together in order to create a bigger picture. Every word is important.
As for me, my favourite word is “reverie”.
Reverie
ˈrɛv(ə)ri/
noun
a state of being pleasantly lost in one’s thoughts; a daydream.
- music
an instrumental piece suggesting a dreamy or musing state.
- archaic
a fanciful or impractical idea or theory.
The first time I came across this word was when I stumbled upon a beautiful guitar instrumental piece composed by Ben Lapps. “Reverie” was its title. I looked up its meaning and fell in love with it ever since.
Well… and it’s also because I am a daydreamer and can relate to the word. I get lost in my own world most of the time.
I guess just like how there might be a story behind your favourite colour or song, there might just be a story behind a person’s favourite word. A person’s favourite word says a lot about him. It can be a different way to get to know more about a person and his thoughts.
So what is your favourite word?
